TIRANA (Albania), March 9 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased 9.63% year-on-year in January, reaching 1.4 billion leks ($12.6 million/11.2 million euro), official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance added 10.23% to 1.3 billion leks in January, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 95.5 million leks, up 6.56%, according to figures published by the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) last week.
Total gross claims paid increased to 751.7 million leks in the review period from 369.3 million leks in January 2019.
The statistics comprises data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
