TIRANA (Albania), June 14 (SeeNews) – Albania's largest sea port of Durres handled 1.6 million tonnes of cargo in the January-May period, up 5% year-on-year compared to the same period in 2018, the port authority said.
Most of the goods, about 70%, were processed by 254 vessels anchored during the first five months of the year, while 30% of goods were processed by the Durres - Bari and Durres - Ancona ferries, according to data published by the port authority.
In 2018, the port of Durres handled 3.6 million tonnes of cargo, down from 3.7 million tonnes in the previous year.
