February 10 (SeeNews) - Albania's largest seaport of Durres handled 4.4 million tonnes of cargo in 2021, up 14%, the Durres port authority said.
The volume of processed goods last year was 9% higher compared to the pre-crisis period in 2019, the port authority said in a statement.
The increase of trade volumes was also reflected in the increase of profit, the port authority noted, adding that profit increased by 12% year-on-year to 2.8 billion leks ($26 million/23 million euro) in 2021.
In 2020, the port of Durres handled 3.88 million tonnes of cargo, down from 4.07 million tonnes in 2019.
