May 30 (SeeNews) - Albanian authorities issued 429 building permits in the first quarter, up 8.1% year-on-year, the national statistical office INSTAT said on Tuesday.
As many as 341 permits were issued for the construction of residential buildings, INSTAT said in a quarterly report.
The approved permits covered projects with a total area of 415,842 square metres, a 60% decrease from the same period in 2022.
The estimated value of approved construction projects amounted to 21 billion leks ($204.6 million/190.7 million euro) in the period under review, compared with 39 billion leks in the first quarter of 2022.
The highest number of permits, 191, were issued for buildings in the coastal city of Durres, followed by 79 in the capital of Tirana.
