TIRANA (Albania), September 29 (SeeNews) – Albania’s August trade deficit fell 5.0% year-on-year to 25 billion leks ($202.2 million/179.4 million euro), the Albanian statistics institute, INSTAT, said on Tuesday.
Exports in August totalled 15 billion leks, down by 17.6% compared to the same month last year and 32.1% lower than in July 2015, INSTAT said in a statement.
Imports in August amounted to 40 billion leks, down by 10.3% compared with the same month last year and 23.6% lower than a month earlier.
Albania's main trade partner remained the European Union, accounting for 63% of the country's trade turnover in August. Italy had a share of 32.6%, while Greece accounted for 7.2% of the total.
