TIRANA (Albania), December 3 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased 3.94% year-on-year in the ten months through October, reaching 14.3 billion leks ($127.2 million/115.2 million euro), official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance grew 3.43% to 13.2 billion leks in the January-October period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 986.7 million leks, up 9.09%, according to figures published by the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority late on Monday.
Total gross claims paid increased to 5.03 billion leks as at the end of October, from 4.67 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprise data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
