TIRANA (Albania), January 6 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased to 15.6 billion leks ($142.3 million/127.5 million euro) in the 11 months through November, up 3.2% year-on-year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance added 2.84% to 14.5 billion leks in the January-November period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 1.1 billion leks, up 6.38%, according to figures published on the website of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) last week.
Total gross claims paid decreased to 5.5 billion leks in the review period from 6.2 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprises data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
