TIRANA (Albania), September 26 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased 2.33% year-on-year in the eight months through August, reaching 11.4 billion leks ($101.8 million/92.7 million euro), official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance grew 1.8% to 10.5 billion leks in the January-August period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 823.9 million leks, up 10.9%, according to figures published by the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority late on Wednesday.
Total gross claims paid increased to 3.9 billion leks as at the end of August, from 3.6 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprise data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
