TIRANA (Albania), December 7 (SeeNews) – Albania has secured the unanimous support of member states of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) for its candidacy to chair the organization in 2020, the country’s foreign ministry said on Friday.
“The decision was formalized today during the 25th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Milan,” the ministry said in a press release.
Next year, starting from 1st of January, Albania will be part of Troika of the OSCE Presidency, along with Slovakia, which takes over the presidency in 2019, and Italy, which is closing its chairmanship, the ministry said.
Albania joined the organization in 1997.
