August 17 (SeeNews) - Albania posted a budget surplus of 17.7 billion leks ($146.6 million/130.1 million euro) for the first seven months of 2016, compared to a deficit of 16.4 billion leks a year ago, provisional data from the country's finance ministry showed.
The improvement is mainly driven by higher tax revenues, the data indicated.
Total revenue rose 7.4% year-on-year to 232.2 billion leks in January-July, while total expenditure shrank 7.8% to 214.4 billion leks.
