TIRANA (Albania), April 2 (SeeNews) – Albania's budget was in surplus of 2.0 billion leks ($19.3 million/16.0 million euro) in January, compared to 3.5 billion leks surplus in the same month of last year, official figures show.
Consolidated budget revenue fell 2.2% year-on-year to 35.2 billion leks, while expenditures increased by 2.1% to 33.2 billion leks in January, according to data published by the finance ministry.
Tax revenue fell by 1.2% to 33.9 billion leks, with value-added tax (VAT) proceeds down 2.4% to 11.2 billion leks.
The Albanian government has forecast economic growth of 5.5% and budget deficit equivalent to 6.5% of GDP in the 2021 budget.
