TIRANA (Albania), May 21 (SeeNews) – The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) said on Tuesday it has selected local company Transport Highway Consulting (THC) to supervise the civil engineering works in the project for upgrading the road linking the town of Pogradec to Tushemisht village.
The estimated value of the contract is 21.4 million leks ($62,120/54,926 euro), value added tax included, ADF said in a statement.
The project in southeastern Albania will be financed with the proceeds of a World Bank loan.
THC was ranked first among two candidates in a consultant’s qualification selection procurement procedure. The assignment must be completed in eight months and a further 18 month of defects notification period is needed.
“The consulting services include contract administration and management duties throughout the duration of the assignment to secure smooth and timely implementation, proper supervision and control of the project,” ADF said.
On Monday, ADF said it has selected local joint venture 4 A-M & Garden Line as winner in the tender for the upgrade of the Pogradec - Tushemisht road. The assignment is estimated to cost 377.4 million, VAT included, the statement added.
The assignment is part of a project for improving regional and local roads connectivity in Albania and financed with the proceeds of a $50 million loan from the World Bank.
The ADF is a public agency whose mission is to encourage a sustainable, balanced and cohesive socio-economic development at local and regional level. The ADF was established at the beginning of 1993, based on an agreement between the Albanian government and the World Bank.
