TIRANA (Albania), February 27 (SeeNews) – The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) is inviting bids in a tender for the upgrade of a 13 km road section between the town of Shengjin and the village of Baks-Rrjoll near Velipoja, along the northern coast of the country, it said.
The bidding deadline is March 27 and the construction works should be completed in 12 months, ADF said in a tender notice on Wednesday.
The assignment is part of a project for upgrade works on local and regional roads in Albania and is financed with the proceeds of a $50 million (46 million euro) loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The project aims to facilitate tourism development, support closer economic regional integration and enhance road safety in the EU candidate country, according to the EBRD.
The ADF is a public agency whose mission is to encourage a sustainable, balanced and cohesive socio-economic development at local and regional level. The ADF was established at the beginning of 1993, based on an agreement between the Albanian government and the World Bank.
