TIRANA (Albania), August 23 (SeeNews) – The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) said it is inviting bids in a tender for the implementation of the German bank KfW-funded programme for constructing or upgrading water supply networks in Albania’s rural areas.
The bidding deadline is September 24 and construction works must be completed in twelve months followed by another twelve months of defects notification period, ADF said in a notice posted on its website.
“The tendering procedure is international competitive bidding to all eligible tenderers as defined in the KfW procurement guidelines,” the ADF added.
The programme's objective is to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of rural areas and support the economic development of these areas.
The programme is financed by the KfW with a 25 million euro ($28.9 million) loan and with 9.8 million euro EU funding through the instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) 2013, ADF added. The programme is foreseen to spread all over Albania.
The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) is a public agency whose mission is to encourage a sustainable, balanced and cohesive socio-economic development at local and regional level. The ADF was established at the beginning of 1993, based on an agreement between the Albanian government and the World Bank.
