February 7 (SeeNews) - Albania has earmarked 3 million euro ($3.2 million) for a programme that will launch in February 16 which aims to support startups through direct financing, minister of enterprise Delina Ibrahimaj said on Wednesday.
The programme aims to aid 80 startups by providing grants of up to 1.5 million leks (14,000 euro) for entry-level start-ups, Brahimaj said in a press conference, as seen in a social media video. The initiative extends support not only to established startups but also to those with innovative ideas in their early stages.
Start-ups in operation for over a year may receive grants of up to 4.5 million leks, while more established startups are eligible for government support of up to 9 million leks.
