BELGRADE (Serbia), March 12 (SeeNews) – Flag carrier Air Serbia plans to increase the number of flights between Belgrade and New York to three a week as of March 22, it said on Friday.
The flag carrier plans to operate flights on the route on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, Air Serbia said in a statement.
"The addition of another weekly flight to New York, despite the coronavirus pandemic, is a clear indicator that our transatlantic connection functions well and that it represents one of Air Serbia’s strongest routes. The United States is a very important market for us, and we are glad to provide a continuous and strong flight connectivity, not just to Serbia, but also the broader region," Jiri Marek, commercial and strategy general manager of Air Serbia, said.
In September 2020 when, Air Serbia found itself ranked first in terms of load factor on flights to New York with 67% at Terminal 4 of John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Since the resumption of flights to the United States on June 6 until February 28, Air Serbia carried out 218 flights between Belgrade and New York, carrying a total of 38,187 passengers.
