The benchmark index was driven down by fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH], which dropped 5.15% to 22.10 levs, and Central Cooperative Bank [BUL:CCB], which shed 4.38% to 1.53 levs.

The two companies also constrained the broader BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, lowering it by 0.34% to 161.25 points. The biggest loser in the index, however, was cables manufacturer Emka [BUL:EMKA], which slumped 7.27% to 2.04 levs.

The BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, slipped 0.13% to 806.13 points. Its performance was impacted by the loss at Neochim, along with a 2.96% tumble at energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG] to 1.31 levs.

A 0.30% decline in Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER] to 3.32 levs set back the BGREIT. The index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, closed 0.06% lower at 190.04 points.

The BEAMX, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, on the other hand, climbed by 0.13% to 101.26 points. It was buoyed by Dronamics Capital [BUL:DRON], which gained 2.96% to 2.78 levs, and investment firm ImPulse Growth [BUL:IMP], which rose by 1.44% to 1.41 levs.

Total turnover on the main market of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange fell to 802,986 levs ($443,980/410,559 euro) on Friday from 1.3 million levs on Thursday.

With some 163,957 shares traded, First Investment Bank, or Fibank, [BUL:FIB] was the day's top stock by turnover, which came in at 393,497 levs. Fibank's shares closed 1.64% lower at 2.40 levs.
