June 30 (SeeNews) - Greece posted the second-highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU in May, at 10.8%, preceded only by Spain with 12.7%, Eurostat said on Friday.
In contrast, Slovenia registered the lowest unemployment rate among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE) last month, at 3.6%, the EU's statistical office said in a monthly data release.
Elsewhere in SEE, Croatia was the only other EU member state to post a jobless rate above the bloc's average of 5.9%, at 6.5%.
All countries in the SEE region but Romania registered annual decreases in their unemployment rates in May, with Greece marking the biggest one, at 1.9 percentage points.
