Eldrive to build EV charging parks in Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania

The first EVC park, located near the city of Panevezys, will charge up to 20 vehicles simultaneously, with plans to expand capacity to 40 in the second stage, Eldrive said in a statement last week. The stations will provide between 200 and 400 kW of direct current power.

The project, expected to be operational by the end of the year, includes infrastructure for charging electric buses and trucks. The site spans 15,000 square metres and a 318 square metre building will also be constructed.

"Such types of locations are unique and completely absent in the Baltics and Eastern Europe, but also extremely rare globally. The main difference between a charging hub, as Eldrive has been building for several years, and charging parks is that, apart from scale, here the operator is the leading element in the ecosystem. In addition to fast and convenient charging, the entire palette of partner goods and services is provided for the user to benefit from - food, drinks, shops," Eldrive Holding CEO Stefan Spassov said.

In January, the European Investment Bank signed a 40 million euro ($43.4 million) loan deal with Eldrive Holding for the deployment of 8,472 EVC stations across Bulgaria, Romania and Lithuania.

Eldrive Holding is owned by Bulgarian-founded Austria-based clean energy investor Renalfa Solarpro Group.
