Croatia sees EU's largest m/m fall in industrial PPI in May

July 3 (SeeNews) - Croatia registered the EU's sharpest monthly decline in the industrial producer price index (PPI) in May, at 4.1%, followed by Greece with 2.9%, Eurostat said on Wednesday.

In contrast, Bulgaria recorded the highest month-on-month increase in industrial PPI among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE) and second-highest in the EU, at 4.5%, the bloc's statistical office said in a data release. Overall, industrial producer prices in the EU went down 0.3% in May compared to the previous month.

On an annual comparison basis, Croatia's industrial PPI declined the most among EU states in SEE, by 4.4%, compared to a bloc average fall of 4%.

Meanwhile, Romania marked the smallest year-on-year decrease in industrial prices in the region, at 2.2%.

Below are the percentage changes in the PPI of EU member states in SEE in May:
