November 6 (SeeNews) - Sofia Public Electrical Transport Company said on Friday that it signed a deal for the purchase of 30 electric buses and 10 charging stations with a tie-up between local Chariot Motors and China's Higer Bus Company for 33.7 million levs ($20.4 million/17.2 million euro), VAT excluded.
The contract was signed on October 28, Sofia Public Electrical Transport Company said in a notice to the public procurement agency.
The Chariot Motors - Higer Bus Company tie-up received a maximum score of 100 points in the tender for awarding the contract, documents published previously by Sofia Public Electrical Transport Company show.
Solaris Bus and Coach was ranked second, as it offered to deliver the buses and charging stations for 46 million levs.
Several other participants in the tender were disqualified by the contracting authority.
According to registry agency data, Chariot Motors and Higer Bus Company own equal stakes in the tie-up.
