September 25 (SeeNews) - German sports car maker Porsche plans to build an electric bicycle production facility in Croatia, Croatian media reported.
It will be the first factory of the German company in the Adriatic country and its first local greenfield investment in local industrial manufacturing, daily Jutarnji List reported on Sunday. It did not provide further details.
As of the time of publishing this story, Porsche had not responded to an email from SeeNews seeking confirmation of the report and information about the plant.
In November 2021, Porsche announced that it is acquiring a majority stake in Croatian e-bike manufacturer Greyp Bikes for an undisclosed sum. Electric bikes have a fixed place in Porsche's e-mobility strategy and promise further potential, the company said back then.
