July 10 (SeeNews) - Luxembourg-based nanotechnology firm OCSiAl will launch in October a carbon nanotube synthesis facility and research hub in Serbia's town of Stara Pazova, some 50 kilometres northwest of Belgrade, the company said on Wednesday.

In June, OCSiAl finalised the construction of a factory for single wall carbon nanotube dispersions in Stara Pazova. It plans to start commercial production in the third quarter, it said in an emailed statement.

The nanotube synthesis plant is expected to achieve full annual capacity of 120 tonnes throughout 2024-2025, the company said earlier. The facility will also produce nanotube suspensions for lithium-ion battery manufacturers in Europe, the US, and Asia.

OCSiAl is the world's biggest producer of graphene nanotubes and has over 200 employees, it says on its website. The company entered Serbia in 2022 where it operates through subsidiary OCSiAl Balkan.
