March 29 (SeeNews) - Montenegro has agreed to launch direct flights linking its capital city Podgorica to Bulgaria's Sofia, as well as a service connecting the coastal town of Tivat to Bulgaria's Varna, prime minister Zdravko Krivokapic said.
"We managed to agree to activate airlines as soon as possible in part of the existing possibilities: Sofia-Podgorica and Varna-Tivat," Krivokapic said in a video file posted on the YouTube channel of the Montenegrin government on Monday.
The Montenegrin government has also agreed on the launch of flights linking Tivat to Romania's Timisoara, Krivokapic said on the sidelines of a meeting of the heads of government of NATO member states in Southeast Europe held in Sofia.
Earlier this week, Montenegrin state-owned airport operator Aerodromi Crne Gore (ACG) said Serbian flag carrier, Air Serbia, plans to launch flights linking Nis and Kraljevo to Tivat in June.
