July 20 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government said on Thursday the first electric vehicle (EV) charging station in the country has been installed along pan-European Corridor X route, at Presevo toll station near the border with Macedonia.
This is the first of five electric chargers that will be installed along Corridor X in Serbia in the next few months, the government said in a statement.
The next charger will be installed in the next few days at Sid toll station, near the border with Croatia, to be followed by one at the Bubanj Potok section of the Belgrade bypass road by end-July.
In August, electric chargers will be installed at the toll stations Dimitrovgrad and Subotica Jug, located near Serbia's borders with Bulgaria and Hungary, respectively.
The charging stations will offer free internet and will allow the charging of three electric vehicles simultaneously.
European Corridor X is a key north-south link running from Salzburg in Austria, through Southeast Europe, to the Greek port of Thessaloniki.
