Croatian share indices end higher, Podravka in spotlight

June 14 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange rebounded on Friday backed by gains in diversified holding company Adris [ZSE:ADRS2] and electrical concern Koncar Elektorindustrija [ZSE:KOEI], but investors focused on Podravka [ZSE:PODR], bourse data showed.

Food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka announced in the early afternoon that it has submitted a binding bid for the acquisition of the agriculture division of local Fortenova Group. Before this announcement, its shares traded 0.97% lower at 153 euro, generating the biggest daily turnover, 436,200 euro ($466,300). Due to the news for the bid, the bourse suspend the trading with Podravka’s shares from 1425 local time until the end of the trading session.

The 21-share equity benchmark, the CROBEX, added 0.02% to 2,808.27 points.

The narrower equity index CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten issuers in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, advanced 0.19% to close at 1,677.61 points.

Among the other blue chips, preferred shares of Adris rose 0.33% to 60.40 euro in a turnover of 221,400 euro.

Shares of Koncar Elektorindustrija soared 2.34% to 262 euro in a turnover of 109,000 euro.

The regular bourse turnover reached 1.6 million euro from 839,000 euro a day earlier.
