The eight plants are in various stages of project development, with all projects scheduled to be ready for construction by the end of next year.
CCE also announced that it has received the final building permit for the first solar power plant of the eight, located in the northwestern county of Arad. The Horia plant will have a capacity of 40MW generated by around 75,000 high-performance photovoltaic modules which will produce green electricity for almost 17,000 households. The project is being implemented together with the international group of companies FRAPAG and the Banat Agri Group from Romania. Construction of this ground-mounted photovoltaic system is scheduled to start in 2023, while connection to the electricity grid is scheduled for the end of 2024.
At the beginning of August, CCE opened an office in Bucharest, where five employees are working on further development in Romania.
Romania aims to increase its share of renewable energy by 7 GW to 30.7% by 2030. "Romania is very committed to the expansion of renewable energies and its efforts are well above the European average. A very good grid structure and the will to accelerate the transformation towards green electricity thus make Romania an ideal market for us," CCE Managing Director for Romania Johannes Srajer explained.
CCE Holding was founded as a joint venture between Clean Capital Energy from Austria and enernovum from Germany together with Ärzteversorgung Thüringen. The company focuses on the realisation, financing and management of large-scale ground-mounted PV systems as well as commercial rooftop PV installations.
In addition to Austria, the company is currently active in Italy, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Romania and Chile.
