April 9 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Municipal Transport - Pernik said on Friday that it has launched a 5.2 million levs ($3.2 million/2.7 million euro) tender for the purchase of five new electric buses and six charging stations.
The project benefits from EU financing under operational programme Environment 2014-2020, the municipally-owned public transport company said in a tender notice.
The deadline for submitting offers is May 17. Bids will be ranked solely based on price.
Last year, Municipal Transport - Pernik purchased 13 new buses running on compressed natural gas (CNG) for 4.7 million levs following another EU-funded tender. The vehicles were delivered by a tie-up between local companies Bulauto and Bulbus Trade, as well as Turkish commercial vehicles manufacturer Karsan Otomotiv.
