June 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria has launched the construction of 13.6 million levs (8.1 million/7 million euro) congress and research centre at Port Burgas, on the Black Sea coast, the transport ministry said.
The project will be financed by the state-run Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
"The new multifunctional building will help the city of Burgas to develop congress tourism," transport minister Ivaylo Moskovski said in the statement.
The Bulgarian unit of Austria-based group Strabag has been awarded the contract for construction works.
The projeect should be completed in 16 months.
