January 25 (SeeNews) - Most Bucharest stock indices fell on Thursday in higher turnover, Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) data showed.
The total equity turnover of the BVB rose to 119 million lei ($31.5 million/29.4 million euro) on Thursday from 59.3 million lei on Tuesday. Wednesday was a non-trading day on the BVB.
On Tuesday, Romania's financial regulator ASF approved Adrian Tanase's appointment as CEO of the BVB.
The mandate of Marius-Alin Barbu as interim CEO ends as of Tuesday and he returns to his position of deputy CEO, BVB said in a press release.
Adrian Tanase was chief investment officer at NN Pensii, the largest asset manager in the Romanian capital market. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Cybernetics at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
Tanase's term of office will last four years. He is replacing Ludwik Sobolewski, who resigned in October. Sobolewski had been CEO of the BVB since August 2013, when he replaced Vasile Cionga.
Lender Banca Transilvania [BSE:TLV] fell 0.84% to 2.35 lei in the day’s largest turnover of 70.8 million lei.
Oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] rose 0.32% to 0.31 lei in the day's second largest turnover of 18.2 million lei.
Lender BRD Societe Generale [BSE:BRD] fell 0.72% to 13.8 lei in the day's third largest turnover of 3.08 million lei.
