TIRANA (Albania), January 4 (SeeNews) – Albania's energy ministry said it has received an application for building permits for two small hydro power plant (HPPs) of up to 2 MW in Fan i Vogel river near the northwestern town of Lezha.
The application was submitted by local company Uleza Ndertim sh.p.k, according to data posted on the website of the energy ministry on Wednesday.
In the October-December period, the energy ministry received five applications for building permits for small HPPs of no more than 2 MW each.
Albania produces 98% of its electricity from HPPs, most of it from three power plants along the Drin River, in the northern part of the country.
