July 9 (SeeNews) - The sales of Volkswagen (VW) commercial vehicles in Romania in the first half of the year rose by 50% to 1,661 units, Porsche Romania, the sole importer of VW automobiles, said on Monday.The best selling VW model was the Transporter of which 584 cars were sold in the first six months, up 84% on the year. The recently launched Crafter model sold 394 automobiles, Porsche Romania said in a statement.Sales of VW commercial vehicles in Romania rose by 42% last year.Porsche Romania also imports car makes Audi, SEAT, Skoda and Porsche.A total 12,931 commercial vehicles were sold in Romania in the first five months of the year, advancing by 24.6% on the year, data of the Romanian Car Producers and Importers Association showed.
