June 13 (SeeNews) - UK-based investment company Clear Leisure plans to launch a bitcoin mining data centre in Serbia, it said.
Clear Leisure decided to launch the project in Serbia, as the country is one of the best locations in Europe for low-cost energy, the company said in a filing to the London Stock Exchange (LSE) on Tuesday.
Clear Leisure will seek to ensure that the best available energy rates are being utilised in Serbia, the company said.
"As the data centre unit is mobile, moving the operation to another location is not expected to be a difficult task."
Following the successful testing of the unit in Italy, it is expected to be running at full capacity for Bitcoin extraction within a few days of arrival in Serbia, Clear Leisure said.
The unit is currently in customs ahead of arriving on site later this week.
Clear Leisure is an AIM-listed investment company with a portfolio of companies primarily encompassing the leisure and real estate sectors mainly in Italy. The company has recently launched a joint venture initiative in the cryptocurrency mining sector.
