The funding will support the authorities in further aligning the legal framework on water resources management with EU requirements, strengthening capacities for monitoring water quality and flow within the Dniester River Hydrographic District, the embassy said in a social media post on Tuesday. At the same time, it will strengthen public communication and awareness-raising activities on problems related to river management and will strengthen cooperation between both sides of the Dniester on various aspects that affect the river ecosystem, it added.
The project benefits from a total budget of $2.1 million, according to the UNDP website.
