The solar farm will be located in the town of Trilj in the southern Split-Dalmatia county, the ministry said on its website last week.

The plant is to be connected to the grid in 2026, according ta statement by the Croatian Transmission System Operator, HOPS.

The founder of Solar Farm Dalmatia is Dutch-registered company DTEK Renewables International (DRI), according to data from the court registry.

DRI, which is the Dutch-registered renewable energy arm of Ukrainian energy holding The DTEK Croup, said last week it plans to build a wind farm in southern Croatia as the first step in DRI’s ambition to build up a portfolio of up to 500 MW wind and solar projects in the Adriatic country by 2028.
