The Petrol Mbills app functions like a mobile wallet and enables users to receive bills directly to their phone, shop online, transfer money, and pay and order items by scanning their QR code.
A number of these functions were offered by the IT company's preceding app, Hal Mbills, but the upgrade will among other things allow Mbills users to deposit and withdraw money at all Petrol service stations across Slovenia.
Mbills will remain an independent company within the Petrol Group, the fuel retailer said.
The partnership with Petrol will also provide Mbills with access to the international markets where Petrol operates.
At the end of September, the Petrol Group operated 492 service stations, up 1% on the year, of which 316 in Slovenia, 106 in Croatia, 37 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 11 in Serbia, 11 in Montenegro and 11 in Kosovo.
