The contract was signed at the end of October, STA news agency reported on Wednesday, without disclosing the buying price.
The wind farm is planned to be connected to Bosnia's grid in 2025.
The government of Sarajevo Canton said in September that Suzlon Wind Energy BH, a subsidiary of renewable energy solutions provider Suzlon Energy, started the construction of the Ivan Sedlo wind farm. The wind power plant will generate about 70 GWh annually, enough to power about 6% of the total electricity demand in the canton. The cantonal government granted a 30-year concession to Suzlon Wind Energy BH for the construction and operation of the Ivan Sedlo wind farm in 2018.
The wind farm is located in Ivan Sedlo mountain pass, some 20 km west of Sarajevo. The Sarajevo Canton is one of ten cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of two entities in the country. The other is the Serb Republic.
In March 2021, Interenergo started building a 30 MW wind farm worth over 40 million euro in North Macedonia together with real estate investment firm Trigal, a joint venture between Slovenia's insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav and Germany's KGAL Beteiligungsverwaltungs. The company also operates a 10 MW wind farm in Croatia.
