LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), May 28 (SeeNews) – Slovenian state-owned railway company Slovenske Zeleznice said it has signed a 151 million euro ($169.1 million) deal for the purchase of an additional 26 new passenger trains from Swiss company Stadler Rail.
The deal comes after Slovenske Zeleznice commissioned 26 new trains from Stadler in April 2018, Slovenske Zeleznice said in a press release on Monday.
The renovation of passenger trains and the railway network are of utmost importance for providing modern rail public transport in Slovenia, the director general of Slovenske Zeleznice, Dusan Mes said in the press release.
Mes added that the combined value of the 52 new trains amounts to around 320 million euro.
