August 17 (SeeNews) - Serbian cables and wirings maker Tel-Kabl started the construction of a 1.5 million euro ($1.8 million) factory in Zajecar, in eastern Serbia, its owner Dejan Jankovic said.
The new factory will have a footprint of 5,000 square metres and a workforce of 50 to 60 employees, Jankovic said in a video file posted on the YouTube channel of Zajecar-based broadcaster Radio Magnum on Friday.
"Trial production will begin at the beginning of next year and the factory will be officially put into operation," Jankovic said.
Tel-Kabl plans to expand the factory in the future and has started a training programme to ensure qualified workforce for its needs.
"Since the end of last year, we have started training young people. It takes about six months to train them to work on the production lines," Jankovic added.
The company operates a factory with a workforce of 35 employees in Zajecar, where it produces telecommunications, energy and installation conductors as well as cables for data transmission, according to data from its website.
