August 6 (SeeNews) - Serbian coal miner Kolubara, part of state-owned energy utility EPS, is set to restart on Thursday operations at the Veliki Crljeni open-pit mine which was inundated during the May floods, local media reported on Wednesday. The restart of mining operations at the pit will boost Kolubara's daily coal output to 70,000 tonnes from the current 50,000 tonnes, news agency Beta reported, quoting energy minister Aleksandar Antic. Veliki Crljeni restored production 50 days earlier than planned which will ease the need for the import of electricity and save the country millions of euro, Antic said.
