July 12 (SeeNews) - Serbia expects to complete the construction of the 68-kilometre expressway linking Pozarevac to Veliko Gradiste and Golubac by the end of 2025, local media reported on Wednesday.
“We will travel from Belgrade to Veliko Gradiste in an hour and 10 minutes, and will get to Golubac in an hour and 20 minutes [once the highway is ready],” president Aleksandar Vucic was quoted as saying by state broadcaster RTS after inspecting the works.
The expressway features 20 bridges and overpasses, 24 interchanges and intersections with local roads, as well as a bridge over the Velika Morava river.
Serbia and China's Shandong Hi-Speed Group (SDHS) signed in August 2021 a 337 million euro ($371.5 million) agreement for the construction of the expressway.
