March 11 (SeeNews) - A 42.8 million euro ($47.01 million) cardiovascular hospital wing in Belgrade built by local construction company Concord West has been inaugurated, the Serbian president's office announced on Friday.
The facility spanning over 14,000 sq m is equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices worth over 15 million euro in total, the president's office said in a press release.
"It remains to be seen whether it is possible to acquire necessary permits for patients to be airlifted to the hospital," president Aleksandar Vucic said during the inauguration ceremony.
If the aviation safety agency approves it, a heliport will be constructed in the coming months, according to the press release.
Founded in 2010, Belgrade-based Concord West is wholly owned by local entrepreneur Zeljko Drcelic, according to commercial registry data.
The company has also been awarded a 1.3 billion dinars (11.04 million euro/$12.1 million) contract to expand the terminal building of Konstantin Veliki airport in Nis.
