February 5 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Romania in 2023 rose 10.5% on the year, reaching 13.65 million, the statistical board said on Monday.

Tourists spent some 29.2 million overnights in Romania last year, up 9.8% on 2022, the statistical board, INS, said in a statement.

Total tourists 13,647,300 (+10.5%) 901,100 (+2.5%)
-foreign tourists 2,101,300 (+26.5%) 139,700 (+3.6%)
Total overnights 29,171,100 (+9.8%) 1,735,400 (+1.8%)
-foreign tourists 4,464,200 (+22.8%) 299,000 (-2.1%)
