August 17 (SeeNews) - Romania's Rompetrol Rafinare [BSE:RRC], a member of KazMunayGas International Group (KMGI Group), said that it intends to restart operations at Petromidia Navodari refinery by the end of September, following an explosion that occurred on July 2.
Petromidia will resume operations in accordance with the work schedule and delivery of equipment necessary for repairs and inspections of units affected by the accident, Rompetrol Rafinare said in a statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, on Monday evening.
Production units will gradually enter the operational flow, it added.
This timeframe will depend on the additional measures for verification and testing of the equipment, in accordance with the safety rules, and the approval and certification of the installations by the competent authorities, Rompetrol said.
The operation of the installations within the Petromidia refinery were interrupted as a result of an explosion that occurred on July 2 in the diesel hydrotreater unit, killing three workers.

Through its two oil refineries, Rompetrol Rafinare provides over 40% of Romania's refining capacity and is the only producer of polymers in the country.
