Sales in the manufacturing sector saw a 4.6% annual increase in the three months through March, while sales in the mining sector fell by 24.3%, INS said in a press release on Friday.
Sales of capital goods increased by 9.1% on the year, while sales of durable and non-durable goods rose by 3.1% and 0.4%, respectively.
Energy sales rose by 6.6% on the year in January–March, while sales of intermediary goods fell by an annual 1.6%.
In March alone, industrial sales ticked down by 0.5% on the year and increased by 6.9% on the month.
In 2023, Romania’s industrial sales inched up by 0.7%.
