Romania's antitrust body probes Electromontaj Carpati's takeover by Grampet

February 6 (SeeNews) - Romania’s competition authority said that it is looking into the agreed takeover of local power plant equipment supplier Electromontaj Carpati by Grampet Logistics, part of the local Grampet Group.

The Competition Council will assess the terms of the notified transaction in accordance with current legislation to determine whether it can be granted clearance, the antitrust body said in a press release on Monday.

Electromontaj Carpati has 70 years of experience in the field of electrical energy. The company has completed over 3,000 projects to date and employs over 250 people, according to its website.

Grampet Group was established in 1999 in Romania and has in its portfolio companies that offer integrated solutions and services such as transportation, logistics services, production of locomotives, wagons and other rolling stock elements, rolling stock modernisation solutions and leasing services.
