January 25 (SeeNews) - Registrations of new commercial vehicles in Romania fell by an annual 8.4% to 21,313 in 2022, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, ACEA, said on Wednesday.
Registrations of new light commercial vehicles of up to 3.5 tonnes dropped by 16% on the year to 13,583 in the January-December period, ACEA said in a press release.

Conversely, registrations of new medium and heavy commercial vehicles of over 3.5 tonnes rose by an annual 7.5% to 6,870, with registrations of new heavy commercial vehicles of 16 tonnes and over increasing 18.3% on the year.
In December alone, new commercial vehicles registered in Romania decreased by 3.8% to 2,056, with registrations of light commercial vehicles dropping by 8.6% to 1,363 and medium and heavy commercial vehicles inching down by an annual 0.9% to 579.
The annual slowdown of Romania's new commercial vehicle registrations reflected the overall EU trend, as only five member states recorded an annual increase.
Total registrations of new commercial vehicles in the EU, excluding Malta, fell by 14.6% on the year to 1.607 million in 2022. In December, EU registrations decreased by an annual 5.1% to 148,149 units.
