Some 340,000 products were sold during eMAG's Black Friday campaign in Bulgaria, eMAG Bulgaria said in a statement.

"On Friday, 20 November, we saw that an impressive number of people perceive e-commerce as a way of shopping. We expect this trend to continue until the Christmas holidays," Andrei Popescu, country manager at eMAG for Bulgaria, said in the statement.

In September, eMAG opened a showroom in Sofia, its first in Bulgaria.

The online retailer, founded in 2001, entered the local market in 2012. Currently, eMAG has a portfolio of over 1 million products in Bulgaria.
