Both units of the NPP are currently operating at reduced power due to severe local weather conditions, but under normal parameters, Nuclearelectrica said in a press release on Sunday morning.

"The controlled shutdown of Unit 2, the remedial works and the reduced power shutdown are carried out safely, in accordance with the specific procedures of the Cernavoda NPP applicable in these situations, without any impact on the nuclear safety of the reactor, the unit staff, the population and the environment," said the company.

Nuclearelectrica's shares traded flat at 48 lei ($10.57/9.65 euro) as of 1057 CET on November 27 on the Bucharest bourse.
