New passenger car registrations in Romania up 12% in 2023

January 18 (SeeNews) - Registrations of passenger cars in Romania rose 12% on the year in 2023, reaching 142,791 units, the Romanian Car Producers and Importers Association, APIA, said on Thursday.

Light commercial vehicles registrations, including minibuses, increased 15% to 18,188 last year, APIA said in a press release. Registrations of heavy commercial vehicles and buses grew by 26%.

As many as 32% of the new passenger cars were registered in Romania during the period were manufactured by Dacia.
